Movember Charity Started It
It was following a conversation with a few of my Movember group of friends that the conversation arose about complaints being made by some of the wives about moustache and beard hair being left in the toilet basin. Yea, big deal!
Anyhow this is our second year of running our Movember charity and some of the guys were saying that it was the same old groan last year. That’s when I first suggested using a beard trimmer with vacuum and save a bit of a moan.
Sorry, I’m taking it for granted that all who are reading this are Movember savvy. My mistake, as Movember has really only been going on for the past few years or so and at that, its arrival in different countries has been sporadic.
Anyway, it’s a charity that has been set up to make us mere males become a little more aware of our health and become better educated about things like prostate cancer. Things like any family history of cancer should be taken seriously as well as starting to take healthy living a bit more serious.
So using the combination of moustache and November the founders named the charity Movember. The purpose is to “Change the face of men’s health” and wearing a moustache for the 30 days of November to show our support.
Some members in our group who normally wear beards have shaved them off for the month and kept the moustache. Others have grown not only a moustache but also a beard, all quite mixed and a bit of a laugh.
If you have not yet started out or joined a group of guys interested, maybe it’s time you started your own group. To register In USA, go to us.movember.com and for the UK visit uk.movember.com etc. Get the idea? Just add your country extension to the beginning of the domain name to visit your local site.
Vacuum Stubble and Beard Trimmer List
Getting back on topic, here is the list of beard trimmers with vacuum that I have found available online. I have just noticed that the Wahl Trim N Vac listings have been removed from Amazon site, perhaps out of stock.
UPDATE – Seems to be that the Remington MB-70 MB70 and Philips Norelco T970 are also out of stock.
I have left the reviews of these vacuum trimmers still on the page in the event they come back into stock. Maybe it comes as no surprise, but the two preferd models are the two choices that are left to us. These are the Philips Norelco QT4050 and the QT4070.
Remington MB-70 MB70 (Out of Stock)
Philips Norelco T970 Accu-Vac Beard and Moustache Trimmer (Out of Stock)
Philips Norelco QT4050 Vacuum Beard and Stubble Trimmer
Philips Norelco QT4070 Vacuum Beard, Stubble and Mustache Trimmer Pro
Wahl Trim N Vac Vacuuming Moustache and Beard Trimmer (Out of Stock)
Vacuum Beard Trimmer Reviews
Here we will be going into a bit more detail of each model of beard trimmer with vacuum from our list that will explore some of the main variations. There’s no specific order of price at this stage, just reviews. The comparison chart at the end of this review will list the prices etc.
1) Remington MB-70 MB70
The cutting blade of the MB-70 MB70 is coated with Titanium which Remington tell us, gives a longer lasting sharp edge for more precise trimming, resulting in less pulling of the beard and a more smooth cut.
Again this is a rechargeable beard trimmer with vacuum model, although not meant to be used with the cord attached like the Norelco models.
9 settings for the chosen beard length can be selected and viewed via the display, along with the sideburn and the moustache shaping setting.
A point to bear in mind is that the Remington MB-70 is a “FACTORY RECONDITIONED” trimmer.
User reviews average out at 4.4 from the 5 stars total from 14 reviewers.
2) Philips Norelco T970 Accu-Vac
Philips Norelco T970 Accu-Vac beard and moustache trimmer should not be confused with the very popular Philips Norelco 980 which is now discontinued. This particular beard trimmer with vacuum has self sharpening blades made of stainless steel to provide the user with a precise cutting edge.
There are 9 settings for the desired beard length. Nowhere on the page could I find out what these different beard lengths were. Only reference was on a user review which stated that the number 1 position gave a “5-o-clock shadow look”
A good feature is the ability to use it with or without the cord as it is a rechargeable model. The recharge time is only one hour and the process can be monitored via the LED battery meter.
User ratings are 3.2 from 5 stars coming from 133 reviews left for the T970 Accu-Vac beard trimmer with vacuum.
3) Philips Norelco QT4050 Plus
The blades require no oiling, meaning no maintenance needed for these stay sharp blades.
This beard trimmer with vacuum can be used as a corded or cordless beard trimmer due to rechargeable Lit-Ion battery that will give 50 minutes of using time before requiring a recharge.
The user reviews of the QT4050 work out at 3.9 from the 5 star rating, coming from a large user base of 217 purchasers. Read more here.
4) Philips Norelco QT4070
Other extra features include the turbo boost, which speeds up the cutting and the vacuum fan action. The battery recharge time has also been speeded up with this model. Again rechargeable and can be used with or without cord plugged in.
Rated at 3.8 from 5 stars with reviews coming in from a whopping 726 users who left a review. This figure I feel will surely rise due to the decision of the company to provide two different combs, the Contour Following comb and the Stubble comb in this package. See all the reviews and more.
To find a more in depth report of both these models, take a look at my Philips QT4070 and QT4050 review which goes into a lot more detail. The review digs deep into the features as well as the pros and cons of the both of these beard and moustache trimmers, leaving nothing out.
5) Wahl Trim N Vac
The Wahl Trim N Vac may possibly be out of stock at the moment as I’m unable to find any pages about it about it. Will try back again to try and complete this comparison.
You can see the specs on my comparison chart below that at least does give details.
Best Vacuum Beard Trimmer
After going through my list above and digesting the comparison chart below, I hope you now have a better idea of what beard trimmer with vacuum would be best suited for you.
Some of the trimmers you will see have discounted prices, which were correct at the time of compiling the chart and are something that you might like to take advantage of.
Some Other Points
Bear in mind that although the Philips Norelco T970 is the cheapest beard trimmer with the vacuum facility, it has been around for quite some time. From 2004 to be exact and may be suffering a bit from older technology.
That being said, if your looking for this type of beard trimmer while at the same time keeping costs down, this one might suit you. Read more about here.
Of the Philips Norelco models, the QT4070 is in my opinion definitely the best buy for a number of reasons.
The links that I have directed you to browse the various models will take you to the least expensive on the Amazon site. Just something to aware of as often the same model can have many different prices.
One example of this is the Philips Qt4090. As far as I can see it is simply the QT4070 with a higher price tag. OK, they are both a beard trimmer with vacuum and made by Philips. But I can’t see any other differences in the two models. Perhaps if you lived in some remote area of the world, the main benefit for you would be that they ship worldwide.

Beard Trimmer with Vacuum Comparison Chart
When is a Norelco Vacuum Stubble and Beard Trimmer Pro – Not a Pro?
Searchers for the Norelco vacuum stubble and beard trimmer pro who are having trouble finding it, might understand better what the problem is when they read this statement found on the Amazon site.
The statement reads – “Philips Norelco QT4070 Vacuum Beard, Stubble and Mustache Trimmer Pro is now called the Philips Norelco QT4070/41 Beard Trimmer 7300”
Why they have decided to change the title from Philips Norelco QT4070 to Philips Norelco QT4070/41 and added the number 7300 beats me and is certainly not the best of marketing ideas.
To date and as far as I know the title for the, “Philips Norelco QT4050 vacuum beard and stubble trimmer” has NOT changed. For how long I’m not sure, but if it should change I intend to do a further update.
I think it would be safe enough to still refer to, which is after all a big favorite among vacuum trimmers as the “Norelco vacuum stubble and beard trimmer”, as that would cover all the bases.
